Academic Year 2023–2024 Tuition Rates

Undergraduate Program Tuition Rates

All Missouri residents, including lawful permanent residents, pay a lower tuition rate than out-of-state students in the same program. However, we offer generous tuition discounts for residents of some other states and members of the U.S. military, as well as provide some scholarships for nonresident students.

All courses that are part of your general education requirements within your academic degree program are charged at the general education program rate of $373 per credit hour.  The majority of academic programs are also charged at the base rate of $373 per credit hour.

Your program's tuition rate does not include the ancillary fees, including the Student Life fee, or optional charges, such as housing, bookstore and parking.

Some academic programs have slightly higher rates to accommodate materials costs or other services.

For students declaring more than one major or officially enrolled in more than one academic program, the highest academic program rate will apply.

The base rate applies to both visiting students and students enrolled at UMKC as part of Cross Campus Enrollment, regardless of declared major or officially recorded academic program.

Students enrolled in a Study Abroad program through UMKC will be charged the academic program rate for their degree program for any coursework that requires a tuition payment as a part of that program.
